Whether you love the holidays so much that your lights are still up from last year, or you begrudgingly drag out the decorations the day after Thanksgiving, we all can learn to decorate a little better.  Here are a few common mistakes made while decking the halls:

·      Overloading outlets or extension cords. Incandescents have a limit of 500 lights per outlet.  Overloading could flip a breaker or cause a fire.

·      Exposed extension cords.  Be sure to hide extension cords so guests aren’t at risk of tripping and falling.

·      Using indoor lights outside.  Indoor lights are often not waterproof and could cause a fire when wet.

·      Using nails or staples instead of hooks.  Not only do you end up with permanent holes in your home, metal conducts electricity.

·      Doing it all yourself.  Why go alone when H&T can handle your holiday lighting?
